Built From Opportunity

DAWER Goods started during my sophomore year at Wake Forest University. I had a summer internship lined up, but over winter break, I realized I wanted to take a chance on something I had always dreamed of doing: starting my own business.

So, I turned down the internship and got to work.

Looking through my father's manufacturing company, Tower Industries, I saw premium material going unused. Meridian Solid Surface run off and leftover countertop remnants were being left behind. Where others might have seen waste, I saw opportunity. Those materials became the foundation for our FURever Bowls and cutting boards.

With support from Wake Forest's Deacon Springboard program, months of prototyping, and plenty of learning along the way, DAWER Goods became a reality.

It's Not the Recipe, It's the Ingredients

Every Thanksgiving, my family made Grandma Nelli's cookies, and no matter how full I was, I always found room for them. In middle school, I tried making the same recipe myself using the cheapest ingredients I could find. The result was terrible.

When I asked my grandma what went wrong, she laughed and told me, "David, it's not the recipe, it's the ingredients."

Years later, that lesson became the philosophy behind DAWER Goods. A great idea is only the beginning. The materials, care, and work behind a product are what make it special. At DAWER Goods, we start with premium materials with Meridian Solid Surface and give them an entirely new purpose.
